It's been a long couple of weeks. A lot has happened, but it seems like life has gone in slow motion. First off, Brandon was in a pretty serious car accident. He was in a work vehicle on his way to a story and he was stopped behind a car that was turning left. Behind him, a car came flying over the hill and hit them from behind. That pushed them into the car in front of them and spun them into the next lane of oncoming traffic. The oncoming traffic t-boned them on the passenger side and they landed in a ditch on the side of the road. Here's a picture of the car after everything.
Everyone ended up being okay. His reporter that was in the passenger seat was driven by ambulence to the ER and was checked out and sent home. Brandon was fine except for a stiff neck/back and a softball-sized knot on his leg with a pretty nice bruise around it. It was a crazy couple of days. That next Tuesday, my Grandpa Hume passed away. It was hard being away from my family while all of this was going on. so many friends and loved ones have been so supportive of my family during this time, and it's been so wonderful. Work has been going okay. I'm at one of the busiest branches in Lexington, so it gets very hectic. I get very overwhelmed sometimes because I still don't know a lot of things about the banking business. I wish that we could sometimes be like on the Matrix where we can just plug ourselves into a computer and know and understand anything we want. I know it will get better as time goes on, but I'm not very good at waiting! Christmas is fast approaching. We got a Christmas tree from my branch that had an extra one, so thankfully we don't have to buy one until after Christmas. *i.e. MAJOR SALES!!* I'm looking forward to spending time with my family and for Brandon and I to spend our first Christmas as a married couple--I like that! :) Well, that's an update for me. Hope you all are doing well. alw |
